Explanation of Ranks and Promotions
Enlisted Personnel
Service members in pay grades E-1 through E-4 are usually either in some kind of training status or on their initial assignment. The training includes the basic training phase where recruits are immersed in military culture and values and are taught the core skills required by their service component.

Basic training is followed by a specialized or advanced training phase that provides recruits with a specific area of expertise or concentration.

Ranks E1-E4
-New Recruit can sign up for any of three Element.   Navy, Marines, Air Force.
-New Recruit starts out as a recruit and must sign up for boot camp.  Starting rank is E-1 in selected Element.
-New Recruit first Promotion.  First promotion comes after 3 training missions in boot camp.  After completion, recruit will be promoted to E-2 in selected Element.
-Second Promotion.  Second promotion comes after 6 training missions.   Member will be promoted to E-3.
-Third Promotion.  Third promotion follows 10 training missions and 2 combat missions.

Leadership responsibility significantly increases in the mid-level enlisted ranks. This responsibility is given formal recognition by use of the terms noncommissioned officer and petty officer. An Air Force staff sergeant, and a Marine corporal are considered NCO ranks. The Navy NCO equivalent, petty officer, is achieved at the rank of petty officer third class.

Ranks E5-E9
-Promotion to ranks E5-E9 is to follow recommendations from commanding officer to the Command Staff for review.  After review process is complete and the promotion is deemed warranted, recommendation will be passed on to the force Commander.
-Consideration for promotion:  consideration for promotion is to be given to members that have done the following.  Shown leadership qualities, missions, training, fictions, art and other things.

*Notes:
-Soldier can transfer between any of the Elements with a written request to command staff.
-Soldier can put in for a promotion to become a commissioned officer.  Soldier must submit request in writing to Command Staff.  If approved the soldier must complete officer training.
